Kevin started his waterfowl hunting career as a teenager in North Texas. In the beginning, His sole focus was hunting puddle ducks over potholes, sloughs, and flooded bottomlands. By the time he was 17, he had built a fantastic reputation and had grown men wanting to hunt with him on the weekends. From there, his passion for waterfowl grew when he landed a job with a hunting club on the Eagle Lake rice prairie. After several years working for an outfitter, he learned that hard work, persistence, and a damn good hide were the key to being a consistently successful waterfowl guide. After years of visiting the Texas Panhandle shooting limits of geese and piles of green-heads, he decided to make the panhandle his waterfowl home. “Founding Fowl Plains Outfitters and building the lodge has allowed me to watch my dreams play out in real-time.”

Conner was born and raised in East Texas and learned how to hunt and fish from his dad at an early age. He grew up he deer, quail, dove, and turkey hunting at a lease in West Texas. Most importantly, he learned to duck hunt in Arkansas and around his East Texas home. All it took was one duck hunt for Conner to develop a deep passion. Learning to hunt and blow a call from some of the best in Arkansas, he took that knowledge home and applied it to the ducks of East Texas with great success. Coming to Lubbock for a short-lived college football career allowed Conner the opportunity to hunt Lesser Canada geese, Sandhill crane, and his beloved ducks. He’s been honing his skills in West Texas for nine seasons now and has made many reliable connections with farmers to ensure we always have permission and stay on the birds. You can expect to laugh loud and experience large flocks of birds when on hunts with Conner.

Jack grew up in the Texas hill country and found a passion for waterfowl hunting in the marsh grass and mesquite filled lakes of the Texas coast. When he moved to the panhandle he discovered a love for huge groups of screaming lesser geese. Since 2015 he has scouted geese day in and day out every season. He has a hard time getting away from wads of greenheads dumping into small playa lakes. He farms full time up until hunting season starts, which gives him great opportunities to connect with local farmers and land owners. At Fowl Plains he strives to end every hunt with a laugh and a pile of birds, so expect jokes to be cracked and birds to fall with him in the blind.

Matt was raised in Central Texas and started deer hunting at an early age. He learned how to blow a duck call early on but wasn't a religious waterfowl hunter until high school. Matt began his waterfowl career around Brownwood, Texas, where he would shoot puddle ducks off shallow water tanks. He spent every weekend (and many school mornings) harvesting ducks with his dad and brother. Matt graduated high school and moved to Lubbock, Texas, to attend Texas Tech University. Matt was immediately obsessed with the massive number of waterfowl birds that migrated through the panhandle every season. During his freshman year of college, he began developing relationships with landowners to gain permission to hunt. During his first few years of college, Matt and his dad owned a successful hunting outfitter for a few seasons. This experience allowed him to develop a wild passion for goose hunting. He has been guiding West Texas waterfowl hunts since 2013 and is a mad man on a goose call.

Alec grew up hunting farm ponds for ducks on his deer lease with his dad and brothers. Once he could drive , he moved on to hunting the large bodied public lakes in his hometown of Ft. Worth. After high school, Alec went on to Texas Tech where he studied Ag Eco. Through the ag program, he was able to meet several land owners who taught hi about the playa lakes, and how to shoot ducks on them. Not only did he find playa lakes, but was able to land a job as a cotton farmer, where he works in the off season. Alec and his black lab Cope are ready to take you out for an amazing hunt this season

John grew up in Houston chasing ducks along the coast and the coastal prairie of South Texas. Primarily chasing redheads, teal, and more. After High school he went to college in Minnesota due to the hunting opportunity’s mainly the chance to Hunt Canada geese. After a couple years and many visits to Lubbock and Texas Tech John decided to move back to Texas and attend Texas Tech. There he began chasing geese and ducks day in and day out while completing his degree. After completion of his undergraduate the passion still remains and is still going to put you on birds day in and day out.

Michael grew up hunting along the coast of south Texas, chasing the saltwater ducks that fly the bays and sloughs. This pushed him to the freshwater prairies where he grew a passion for hunting Speckle-belly and Snow geese. Once it was time for college, Texas Tech University was an easy pick for him, knowing about the incredible waterfowl hunting close to the city of Lubbock. Him and a group of buddies hunted every chance they had for four years, finding many piles of little geese, ducks, and Sandhill Crane. After college he went back to the South Texas prairie of Provident City, where he guided and helped build Backwing Outfitters for two years. Now working with Fowlplains Outfitters in west Texas for almost 3 seasons has opened up doors into Alberta, Canada where he has spent one season with Field Quarter Waterfowl.
